Petites Sarah Jessica Parker and Fergie Named Best Dressed

People has named two petite celebrities, Fergie and Sarah Jessica Parker, to its list of 10 Best Dressed Stars of 2008. Also named to the list were taller celebrities Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson, Heidi Klum, Eva Mendes, and Michelle Obama, the only political pick.
Sarah Jessica Parker starred in the uber-fashion movie Sex and the City this summer, and she's always receiving praise from fashionistas because she pulls off the unexpected in her fashion choices. So we're not surprised that People credits Sarah Jessica Parker with a "unique sense of style."
Fergie, whose fashion choices have at times been questionable, has "emerged as a confident and cool dresser this year," according to People. See the elegant black gown Fergie wore to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Annual Gala.

I agree, Sarah Jessica Parker has a great sense of style. While it’s nice to see that she’s selling clothes through Steve & Barry’s on the premise that fashion should be affordable, it’s somewhat contradictory that she’s been lauded as a petite fashion icon yet doesn’t petite sizes in her Bitten line of clothing.
I would like to see more designers offer affordable clothing for women, especially pants and jeans, with petite inseam lengths and construction. Unfortunately most of those available now either look like old-lady cruisewear or aren’t well made and quickly fall apart (like my Gap chinos that had a hole through the flimsy fabric within months). I’d also like to see some decent-looking pants without spandex!
