Although T.J. Maxx may not be the first place that would come to mind as one of the sources for petites' classic clothing, I was able to find a petites' Calvin Klein dress in a classic style a few days ago. This dress gets bonus points for its grey color, which is a fashion neutral that can go with anything. This hue makes the dress especially easy to accessorize. I also like the hourglass shape and the vertical seaming.
If you're not already familiar with T.J. Maxx, it might be worthwhile dropping by your local store to take a look. There are several things to keep in mind when shopping at T. J. Maxx:
- New items come in several times a week.
- Name brands are sold at markdown prices.
- You're unlikely to be able to find the same thing twice.
- There are quite a few fashion accessories available as well as clothing.
- Online shopping is not available.
Even though there isn't a lot of petites' clothing available at T. J. Maxx, a score is possible. I wore my dress the day after I purchased it. Not only was the dress marked down, but the sales clerk gave me an extra 5% off the purchase price when I mentioned that there was a tiny spot on the dress (I was able to remove it easily later.) Sometimes it can pay to ask for a discount.
