We can see the striking difference in height between Queen Elizabeth and the much taller Princess Diana in this photo from 1989. Queen Elizabeth is probably the world's most famous petite woman. Her height has been estimated between 5'2" and 5'4". With the clothing that royal dressmakers customize especially for the queen, she never has to worry about whether or not her clothes will be too long as most other short women do.

Designers for Queen Elizabeth have included Norman Hartnell, who designed much of her formal attire in the 1940s and 1950s, including her bridal goown and coronation dress; Hardy Amies, Ian Thomas, Maureen Rose, John Anderson, Karl Ludwig Rehse, Stewart Parvin, and Angela Kelly, who is also Senior Dresser to the Queen.
