Wearing a short, ruched, red dress, Julie Christie looked more like she was attending a cocktail party than the Oscars. I actually liked the dress, which she and her stylist designed, because the form-fitted style and deep V-neckline accentuated her figure, but a long gown would have been more appropriate for the Academy Award ceremony. Her choice of accessories was bizarre. Although her necklace was pretty, the see-through light pink gloves and light shoes did not go well with her dress, and her orange ribbon symbolizing a call to close the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, added another odd note.
