Finding petite swimwear doesn't have to be a chore. Bikinis, short torso swimwear, and even regular one-piece swimwear are among the choices. In swimwear, look for swimwear styles and fabrics that enhance your figure; then add a swimwear coverup to disguise figure flaws, and you're all set for summer at the beach or around the pool.
1. Bikinis

For those petites who dare to go bare, a bikini is a swimwear solution. In most cases, there's no need to worry about having a short torso when you shop for a bikini, although there are a few exceptions. If the bikini has a longer top, it may be necessary to hem it; however, if the top is bra-style, it should work just as well for petite women as for women of average height. Bikini bottoms tend to be brief, to say the least, so they normally won't need to be altered either.

Although many petites can wear a regular one-piece suit with no fitting problems because of the stretchy nature of the fabric used for most swimsuits, this is not always the case. If a regular one-piece suit doesn't fit properly, consider a short torso swimsuit when you're shopping for a one-piece swimsuit. Short torso swimwear is made especially for women with short torsos, and that includes a majority of petites.
3. Swimwear Coverups

Swimsuit coverups serve multi-purposes when you're at the beach or the pool. A swimsuit coverup can help disguise figure flaws that can't be hidden by a swimsuit, protect against the strong rays of the sun, and, depending on the style, go right from the beach to other activities. Coverup styles include loose shirts, skirts, sarongs, robes, and dresses, both short and long. Fabrics such as mesh, terrycloth, and cotton gauze work well for swimwear coverups because they dry quickly.
